Dr. Gu Jianwen is Chief Representative for Greater China at the Isle of Man Ship Registry. He holds Bachelor's degrees in Marine Engineering and Navigation, a Master's degree in Transportation Planning, and a PhD in Intelligent Navigation from Dalian Maritime University.

With over 30 years of leadership experience in the maritime industry, Dr. Gu spent more than two decades with COSCO, where he held several senior management positions. He pioneered China's first LNG seafarer cooperation programme with BP Shipping (UK), signed the country's first LNG seafarer deployment agreement, and led the development of China's first English-language Tanker Safety Management System.

He later served for over 18 years as the China leader of Fleet Management Limited, one of the world's leading ship management companies. Widely recognised as one of China's most respected maritime professionals, Dr. Gu continues to work closely with leading shipowners, classification societies, maritime authorities, and industry associations throughout Greater China.
